About Dr. Shreya Nayak

Dr. Shreya Nayak is the Chief Retina Surgeon and Head of Retina Services at Acura Vision, Meerut. She is a vitreoretinal surgeon who completed her MD in Ophthalmology at the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, AIIMS, New Delhi - India's foremost eye institute - after her MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi. She treats the full range of medical and surgical retinal conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), macular holes and retinal vascular disease, and performs intravitreal injections and vitreoretinal surgery.

At Acura Vision she works with the Alcon Unity VCS surgical system and diagnoses using multimodal ultra-widefield (UWF) imaging on the Nidek Mirante platform - a combination Acura Vision is the first centre in North India to offer. This means patients in Meerut and western Uttar Pradesh can access AIIMS-level retina care close to home, without travelling to Delhi.

Dr. Shreya Nayak leads the retina department at Acura Vision, where she manages the complete spectrum of vitreoretinal disease - from early diabetic changes picked up on routine screening to complex retinal detachment and macular surgery. Her postgraduate training at Dr. R.P. Centre, AIIMS, one of the busiest tertiary eye-care institutes in the world, gave her high-volume, hands-on experience with advanced retinal conditions.

Alongside her clinical work she has an active academic record, with peer-reviewed publications on macular hole surgery, Coats' disease and ocular imaging, and a contribution to national ophthalmology guidelines. For patients this translates into care that is both current and evidence-based, delivered with the judgement that comes from a research-oriented training background.
