Medical Superintendent; Senior Vitreoretinal & Refractive Surgeon, Acura Vision (Roop Netralaya), Meerut
Dr. Sangeeta, the senior-most vitreoretinal surgeon in Western UP, pioneered retina services in Meerut in 1995. She specializes in retina care and has performed 25,000+ refractive surgeries.
Dr. Sangeeta is the Medical Superintendent of Acura Vision (Roop Netralaya), Meerut, and the senior-most vitreoretinal surgeon in Western Uttar Pradesh. She completed her MBBS at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, her postgraduate training in Ophthalmology at Guru Nanak Eye Centre, New Delhi, and her super-specialty training in vitreoretinal surgery at the Retina Foundation, Ahmedabad. She specialises in medical and surgical retina and in laser refractive surgery.
A pioneer of posterior-segment eye care in the region, Dr. Sangeeta established retina services at Roop Netralaya in 1995 — bringing cutting-edge retinal care to Western UP at a time when it was available only in metropolitan cities. She is also a leading refractive surgeon, having performed more than 25,000 refractive surgeries, and has grown the institution from a small clinic into a tertiary-level eye hospital.
Dr. Sangeeta was instrumental in starting vitreoretinal services at Roop Netralaya, Meerut, in 1995, making advanced posterior-segment care accessible to the people of Western Uttar Pradesh at a time when such treatment meant travelling to Delhi. As the senior-most vitreoretinal surgeon in the region, she has cared for generations of patients with diseases of the retina.
She is equally a pioneer in refractive surgery: she began performing LASIK in 1998, established the first standalone excimer laser setup in Western UP in 2000, and introduced femtosecond LASIK to Uttar Pradesh in 2012. Under her, Acura Vision (Roop Netralaya) has been a centre of excellence for refractive surgery for over two decades.
As an administrator and institution-builder, Dr. Sangeeta grew Roop Netralaya from a two-doctor, three-room setup into a flourishing tertiary-level eye-care facility built to international standards. She now serves as Medical Superintendent of Acura Vision Eye Hospital, and has been recognised with several awards for leadership in healthcare.
